Principal Dentist

Dr Kegan Lewis BDS MSc (Clinical Education) MDTFEd GDC 176525

Kegan graduated in Dentistry in 2009 from Queen’s University Belfast with a Distinction in Conservation. She worked in busy NHS practices in Coleraine and Portglenone before taking ownership from LD Flanagan in Dungiven in 2014.

She has been a postgraduate dental trainer since 2018 and is committed to empowering her team in their professional growth. She has completed a Masters in Clinical Education at Queen’s University Belfast to enhance her mentorship and teaching skills in educating junior colleagues. She firmly believes in the importance of Preventative based Dentistry, where regular attendance, diet and oral hygiene is the foundation of long term treatment success.

She has trained with the IAS Academy and can provide clear aligners to correct mild and moderate crowding of front teeth. Kegan has an interest in minimally invasive dentistry including composite bonding to restore worn and chipped teeth, having completed postgraduate courses in this. She also provides facial rejuvenation procedures including wrinkle-softening treatments around the eyes and forehead, and dermal fillers to improve the appearance of the lips.

Life outside of dentistry involves being a mum of three, and her non-human kids Rudy the cockapoo and Bruno the cat. She spends most of her time pitchside for kids football training and in the garden with her roses and hydrangeas.

Having graduated in Medicine from Queens University Belfast, Birinder worked as a doctor for a number of years before pursuing a career in dentistry.  He graduated from Peninsula Dental School in 2015 with Honours, receiving both the Dean’s Gold Medal in Academic Excellence and the Award in Clinical Excellence.  Wanting to return home, Birinder finished his training in Derry, winning the Northern Ireland Foundation Dentistry Case Presentation Prize and has continued to work in the Northwest.  He is committed to continuing professional development, having trained foundation dentists and gained a distinction in Clinical Education.  Birinder is following his interest in root canal treatment and is due to complete a Master’s degree in Endodontics in 2024.

When not in clinic, Birinder enjoys spending time with his wife and two young kids in the great outdoors.

Birinder prides himself in putting people at ease and helping guide them through their treatment options. He takes time to talk through what is achievable to meet each patients individual needs. He is a firm believer that knowledge is power, and empowers patients to take control of their own oral health, aiming to deliver the best possible care.
